Ugalde Trucking Raises over
$7,500 to Fight Multiple Sclerosis
Chances are that you probably
know someone who has MS (multiple sclerosis). What you may not
know is that multiple sclerosis is an unpredictable disease
affecting more than 400,000 Americans. Multiple sclerosis is a
chronic, unpredictable and often disabling disease that attacks
the central nervous system. Symptoms may be mild, such as
numbness in the limbs, or severe, such as paralysis or loss of
vision. More than 200 new cases of MS are diagnosed each week in
the United States alone. The cause and cure of MS are not known,
and an effective treatment remains elusive.
On October 13,2007 Dan Ugalde participated in
the 2007 MS Bay to Bay bike ride to raise money for multiple
sclerosis. The ride has raised over 3 million dollars and
counting. Ugalde Trucking raised $7,515 through the
generous contributions of our subhaulers. Forty
percent of all money raised from events such as the MS 150 goes
directly to the National MS Society to fund research and
national programs. Sixty percent stays here within the Pacific
South Coast Chapter, which serves the
Orange, San Diego and
Imperial
Counties.
Thank you to all of our generous subhaulers who contributed
donations for this wonderful cause!
Dan has participated in this ride
for more than 10 years and plans on continued participation into
the future. In 2007, we will increase our fundraising goals and
hopefully have some new riders.
